Our Provider

Laura Besada, APRN, PMHNP-BC, is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who provides essential mental health services to diverse populations throughout South Florida. Her extensive experience includes working in some of the region's most demanding settings, such as Ryder Trauma Center in Miami-Dade and the Lazarus Project at Camillus House Shelter, where she delivers care to individuals facing complex mental health, medical, and social challenges.

With a clinical background in emergency and trauma care, community mental health, homelessness outreach, addiction treatment, and private psychiatric practice, Laura has developed a deep appreciation for the resilience of the human spirit. She emphasizes the importance of meeting patients where they are, without judgment.

In her practice, Laura conducts thorough psychiatric evaluations and approaches every patient through a trauma-informed, person-centered lens. She integrates the principles of integrative psychiatry, recognizing that mental health cannot be separated from physical health, lifestyle, relationships, nutrition, sleep, stress, and overall well-being. Instead of focusing solely on symptoms, Laura adopts a comprehensive approach to understand the whole person, identifying underlying contributors to emotional distress and crafting individualized treatment plans that foster long-term healing and wellness.
